Due to our long history of work in Central America, we concentrate on partner organizations that focus on Education&Social Work, Women and the Environment. On our page Volunteering Positions, you can find information about individual volunteer positions and how to apply.
Please check the minimum time commitment, Spanish level, as well as other required capabilities and experiences. The presentations will give you detailed descriptions of the projects such as the organization’s location, room and board options, Spanish schools, and estimated costs.
It is also possible to explore several countries as part of your volunteer experience. You can work as a volunteer in different countries or e.g. learn Spanish in Guatemala and afterwards work in Nicaragua as a volunteer. But we do not promote “Voluntourism“, it is better for you and the project to stay in one organization the whole time.
There are no waiting times or application deadlines for volunteer positions; usually you can arrive all year. However, we do need a lead-time of about 3 months normally, to ensure enough time to answer all questions and to find an organization that is a good match for you.
