Hurricane Agatha

In May 2010, Guatemala was largely affected by tropical storm Agatha. Thousands of people became homeless in the area of Antigua. Many families lost their goods and beloved relatives. Two months after the hurricane, many houses still were covered by mud.

Volunteers of Proyecto Mosaico collaborated with partner organizations to get in-kind donations and monetary contributions. When the emergency support left, Proyecto Mosaico started the project “Caravana de la Paz” with EduArte. The project was meant to assist persons affected by the hurricane on a long-term basis to start rebuilding.

We would like to thank all partner organizations and volunteers sincerely for their contribution to this the collaborative project. We wish the affected families the very best.
